In Australia, more cars are on the road than ever before and their impact on the environment is well documented. The average car can emit up to 4.7 tons of CO2 and it takes nearly 4 trees to sequester 1 tonne (1000kg) of CO2

While electric vehicles are a cleaner way of transport, we are still a long way off these becoming the norm.

Everyone wants to make reducing emissions a priority, but most people need to rely on their vehicle until newer technologies are rolled out in full.

In the meantime, we can manage our transportation methods in a smarter, conscious way and use businesses that address their impact on the environment.

At Greenamotive, the environment is important to us.

This is why we have partnered with Greenfleet, an environment non-profit and Australia’s most trusted source of biodiverse carbon offsets, to reduce our CO2 footprint and impact on the environment.

So far, Greenfleet have planted 9 million native trees through reforestation of more than 475 native forest here in Australia and New Zealand.

Every vehicle that we service contributes offsets of 500kg of CO2 emissions through the planting of 2 native trees. We also plant more for repairs on a job by job basis.

At Greenamotive, we run 95% of our power tools from lithium ion batteries charged on the way to the job site through our vans charging system. All our vehicles CO2 emissions are offset, and other energy requirements are meet through Red Energy 100% green power for our office facilities.

We also offer services for you to offset your vehicle emissions for the entire period between your vehicle service schedule, whether that’s 7,500 10,000 or 15,000 with our Enviro option for vehicle servicing.

Over the next 12 months of operation, we will monitor our impact on the environment and assess how we can continue to lower our impact in the future using the National Carbon Offset Standards from the Federal Department of the Environment and Energy.

Our goal is to become an accredited carbon neutral organization in 2019.

We are also working towards a package for the conversion of standard Toyota Prius Hybrid vehicles to Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) to offer customers a more affordable option for lowering their emissions with the use of electric vehicle technology.

As our business grows we will continue to invest in technologies and systems that will lower our energy use and will be committed to running our workshops on renewable energy and reducing our landfill through a comprehensive recycling system.
